National Steinbeck Center
THE CLIENT:
Located in the heart of historic Oldtown Salinas, the National Steinbeck Center commemorates the work of the late author John Steinbeck. The Nobel Prize winner was known for his prose of place, depicting California’s Central Coast in many of his books and stories. Founded in 1998, the museum holds workshops, events, and programs dedicated to the written word.
THE CHALLENGE:
Our team was tasked with building their online presence, ensuring their website would communicate the museum’s mission, encourage donations, and attract visitors.
THE SOLUTION:
A custom WordPress website was built for the museum allowing their staff to post new events. Exterior and interior footage of the museum was captured with a drone, showcasing the building’s stunning architecture and exhibitions.
Featuring stunning drone footage, and a virtual tour, the website gives visitors a sneak peek into the museum’s exhibitions. Site visitors can make donations, register for events, and explore historical archives.
LAUNCH SITE
An interactive kiosk was designed, programmed, and installed inside the museum’s shop. The kiosk features a touch screen that allows visitors to choose which book they would like to learn more about.
